The Mathews compound bow frenzy started way back in 1991. Back then it was really more of a small buzz instead of a frenzy. In fact, it took years for the idea of shooting a single cam bow to really take off. Since those original beginning Matt Mcpherson and his team of engineers continue to be the leaders in hunting and target shooting arena.
Located in Sparta, Wisconsin, Mathews, Inc. currently employs a staff of 240 people and operates three local facilities to a diverse line of archery equipment, bow components and accessories for authorized retailers all over the world. Our success is predicated on our commitment to three steadfast core values: innovation, integrity and impact.
Matt Mcpherson started by making recurve in the early 70's. He soon moved over to designing compound bows. His first success was the patent of his Inner Cam technology. He was able to sell this technology in 1989. In 1992 he incorporated his new business and what would grow to be the largest grossing bow manufacturer in the world. The cornerstone of this success was the Solocam technology. This set Mathews Inc. appart from the rest by enabling the production of the smoothest, lightest and faster bows on the market.
